The Nov. 11 ribbon-cutting of Falmouth Housing Trust’s Odd Fellows Hall project represented not only the fruition of a nearly-five year undertaking but also the first of its kind in Falmouth.
The adaptive re-use brings affordable workforce housing to Town Hall Square in the form of four single-occupancy studio apartments; the tenants were chosen in a lottery last month with an impending move-in date slated for Dec. 1.
“It’s such a pleasure to finally get to this day. It’s been an odyssey,” said FHT Board Chair Addie Drolette.
“When the trust first started to consider this project, we established two conditions: we didn’t want to change the dynamic of the neighborhood; and we wanted to preserve this beautiful historic building, which had been neglected. I think we did a pretty good job.”
