We are Currently Hiring for the Following Positions:

Assistant Project Manager

The APM must be able to assist the Project Managers in coordinating the activities of several projects to ensure cost, schedule, document control and quality standards are met. The APM is involved in the day-to-day administration of projects and must work with the Project Managers and Clients to achieve cost and scheduling expectations internally and from the perspective of the client.

Responsibilities

The APM has the responsibility to assist the Project Manager and keep the PM accurately and fully informed on the status of any assignments and projects to which they are involved.

  • Work closely with clients to insure they make selections when needed to maintain overall schedule
  • Manage project administration from pre-construction hand-off to project close-out
  • Ability to understand the project and review drawings/specifications and scope of work
  • Manage project documentation (permits, licenses, submittals, RFI’s, work plans, change orders, etc)
  • Attend and prepare for project meetings including keeping meeting minutes, task priority lists, etc and agenda preparation as requested by Project Managers
  • Manage purchasing of client selections and track/account if within the established budget
  • Ability to review and code invoices, prepare and submit AIA billing & identify and purchase long lead time items
  • Facilitate and monitor punchlist and project close

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in Construction industry preferred
  • Strong skills in time management, communication, and the ability to work under tight deadlines and pressure
  • Ability to develop & maintain positive relationships with all parties involved in construction project, while handling difficult issues and/or personalities
  • Expert knowledge of MS Outlook, Excel, Word a must. Construction management software experience a plus

Project Manager

The Project Manager is responsible for coordinating and managing all necessary resources throughout the entire project, from start-up through closeout. The PM will ensure that both the Owner’s/The Valle Group expectations and budgetary guidelines are met or exceeded. The PM manages the project from beginning to end including budget, costs, schedule, risk management, insurances, general work performance and quality, and overall progress against the plan.

Requirements:

  • Possess and exhibit advanced knowledge of the construction management process; maintain expert knowledge of building products, construction details and relevant rules, regulations and quality standards
  • Lead and Communicate with The Valle Group Field Supervision, Subcontractors and Vendors to assist them in working to the Project Schedule
  • Represent The Valle Group with Owner(s), Architects, Consultants, Government Authorities, Vendors and Subcontractors
  • Administer financial aspects of the Owner’s contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders
  • Ensure the project information is properly maintained within the project management software system
  • Develop and maintain open communication with the Superintendent for the duration of the project
  • Build effective working relationships with clients and The Valle Group project team members
  • Project Start-Up
    • Review the general contract and contract documents and confirm the project milestones
    • Create project logs, plan for project safety and mobilization, including review and validation with team members
  • Purchasing process and document control
    • Maintain and manage all purchase and delivery schedules, change order processes, shop drawings, document control logs, Owner, Architect and Subcontractor correspondence
  • Meeting Management
    • Attend all schedule and management meetings necessary to monitor and manage the project, chairing as appropriate
  • Financial Management
    • Provide timely pricing of scope changes, present to project team, obtain approval, write subcontract changes • Project Closeout
    • Deliver all necessary manuals to the Owner, consolidate project documentation and files
    • Manage subcontractor closeout, transfer of utilities, owner training, and punch list process
    • Deliver all warranties, as-builts and training to the owner

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering or applicable discipline and experience relative to project size/scope
  • Minimum 3-5 years Project Management experience
  • LEED or PhiUS Certification a plus
  • Experience using Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Project, Project Management Software

  • Excellent business judgment demonstrated by consistently achieving profitability objectives and strong project close-outs with client and subcontractor relationships in good standing
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail evidenced by a strong command of all applicable contract and legal provisions
  • Ability to constantly multi-task and handle competing priorities between The Valle Group business needs, organizational issues, and sound customer relations
  • Possess judgment to know when to appropriately escalate issues up the chain of command
  • A strong sense of urgency and initiative. Able to quickly study and react to complex issues
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to confidently and decisively take action
  • Team leader with excellent diplomatic and communication skills, able to handle and resolve conflicts effectively in a firm but fair manner
