Martha’s Vineyard Community Services.

The Valle Group partnered with South Mountain Company in the construction of Martha’s Vineyard Community Service’s Early Education and Care Center.

The 10,000 square foot facility, features 4 classrooms, an infant room, staff offices and open common areas. The building was designed and built according to the highest standards of energy efficiency, making this project good for both the community and the environment.

Among the environmentally sustainable considerations of the project are the high standards of airtightness and reduction of thermal bridges throughout the building, super-insulation and a controlled fresh air exchange system. The property  features a completely water-permeable parking lot surface and the building has also been set-up to utilize solar power.

This result is high-performance building offering a safe, nurturing, and comfortable place while emphasizing connections to nature, thoughtful transitions and functional flexibility. A variety of environments from quiet reading nooks to large gathering spaces all have a palette of fun, durable and non-toxic materials.
